Srinagar, April 07 (KNO) : On a written complaint from one person (name withheld) R/o Anchar Soura Srinagar stating that ,his brother who was arrested by police in connection with his involvement in criminal case few days back, and was approached by a person namely Manzoor Ahmad Mir @ Kachra S/o Ghulam Rasool Mir R/o Gulabagh Srinagar A/P Masala Colony Soura Srinagar .
This man introduced himself as a policeman from Police Station Soura and demanded money to facilitate for the release of his brother from Police. The matter was verified and it transpired that the said person has impersonated himself as a Policeman. In this connection case FIR No. 47/2018 under section 419 RPC was registered in P/S Soura and investigation is taken up, the said impersonater was accordingly arrested.
It is pertinent to mention that the said imposter does not belong to Jammu and Kashmir police in any way and had impersonated himself as Policeman only to mint money from the gullible persons. The general public is advised not to fall prey to these impersonators.(KNO)
