Congress leaders observe day-long protest fast in Doda | KNO

DODA , APR 09 (KNO) : Congress party staged a protest at Doda , as part of a countrywide fast of the party, to protest against the BJP government and non-functioning of the Parliament. MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta led the protest who is also District President Doda Congress Committee , accompanied by senior party leaders MLC Sham Lal Bhagat , Asif Jaan Gattu, Hanief Shah , Sheikh Mujeeb Ali,Asgar Khanji ,Hans Raj , Rakesh Charak , Javed Malik , Mohd Ashraf , Mudasir Banday , Fayed Ahmed ,P C Lal , Roshan Lal , Shabir Khan , Ashok Sharma , Amit Gupta , Ravi Pardeep , Taskeen Butt and others .

A day-long fast was also observed by Congress leaders and workers who participated in protest from Bhaderwah , Bhalessa , Charalla , Bhalla , Thatri , Khara and Saraz areas of Doda district to protest against the government and to promote communal harmony and peace across the country.Speaking on the occasion MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta alleged that the PDP-BJP government is direction less.

"The present PDP-BJP government is direction less due to absence of any common point in their respective agenda. The state government has only given rise to a situation of uncertainty, chaos and confusion, he said .He said the state was passing through the "worst ever misrule.There is total policy paralysis due to inherent contradictions and divergent vested political interests among the two diametric opposite ruling partners, PDP and BJP, in the state, he said.He said over three years have passed but not a single promise made to the people by the BJP in Jammu and the PDP in Kashmir has been fulfilled.He claimed that the two parties were divided on the sensitive issues facing the state."Every section of the society is suffering as their grievances are not addressed. They are only concerned about welfare of their families.

Large scale favouritism, nepotism and corruption prevails in the state, he alleged.He cautioned the people about the designs of communal and divisive forces in the state which were constantly on a lookout for opportunities to strike and create hatred.(KNO)
