NIT, KU students protest civilian killings in Kulgam | KNO

Scores of the students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hazratbal, Srinagar on Thursday staged a protest demonstration against the killing of four civilians Kulgam district. Reports said that the students assembled in the premises of the institute and shouted anti-government and pro-freedom slogans to protest against the civilian killings. Meanwhile female hosteliers of Kashmir University also staged a protest at the campus late last night against the civilian killings. The students gathered outside their hostel around 10:15 pm, and raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans to register their protest against the killings.

“We demand an end to the killing of innocent civilians across the valley,” said a protesting student. Earlier, on Wednesday protests were reported from various educational institutes of Kashmir to condemn the killing of four civilians. Four civilians were killed and over 50 were injured during the clashes near encounter site in Khudwani village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
