To maintain law and order the authorities places strict restriction in parts of Srinagar city including at the Old City. Life in Kashmir was crippled on Wednesday as shop and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the roads in valley due to a day-long strike called by JRL against the killing of civilians in security force firing. The government in a bid to maintain law and order imposed curfew-like restrictions in parts of summer capital Srinagar areas falling under the jurisdiction of eight police stations and in parts of South Kashmir.
