The owner of famous Coffee Shop Barista Sajid Shah located at Rajbagh has termed the behavior of the IG Traffic Basant Rath as uncivilized and illegal. Pertinently, the IG Rath today got the footpath near the Barista outlet bulldozed. “The IG came and without any notice orders demolish the footpath despite it being recently constructed legally by R&B Department. I pleaded him to contact the R& B Department but he did not listen and got it bulldozed and used threatening tone.

” He added that the IG was without uniform and is using terrorist like tactics. “As if the IG Traffic Basant Rath has all powers and is in himself the Home Minister, Rand B minister. He comes like a unknown gunman and terrorist without any uniform and resorts to hooligan methods and vandalizing whatever comes in his way.” Sajid Shah remarked -“He should behave as a public servant and do acts as per law and not what deems him fit this approach adopted by him is epitome of lawlessness .

” Pertinently, members of All J&K Transport Welfare Association have warned to go on strike if the harassment to public transport drivers/ conductors is not stopped by the Traffic Police led by Basant Rath. On 22nd March the incumbent Inspector General of Police (Traffic) Basant known for his positive ‘rowdyism’ turned red-faced after he unknowingly posted a photo on social media showing a police vehicle towing by the Traffic police crane Police with a caption “equality before Law ladies and gentlemen,” though the photo evoked a good response from netizens, however, later it turns a hoax after Police clarified that the Vehicle was towed by Traffic department on request of a local police station.
