Immunization programme for children, all pregnant women to be held from Apr 14 – May 05 | KNO

JAMMU, APRIL12 (KNO) : As a part of “Gram Swaraj Abhiyan” to be held from April 14th to May 05th, 2018, the Department of Health and Family Welfare is conducting immunization programme for children under 2 years of age and all pregnant women under Mission Indradhanush to further accelerate immunization coverage and realize the desired goal of immunization.

Under Mission Indradhanush, 3 rounds of immunization would be carried out in 124 villages across 9 districts which include Rajouri, Kathua, Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Reasi, Jammu and Samba with the 1st round scheduled from April 23 to 27, 2018 and subsequent rounds from May 21 to 25 and June 18 to 22, 2018. The people are requested to come forward and avail benefit from the Mission Indradhanush and attend the immunization rounds in their respective villages.

It is pertinent to mention that the GSA will be observed in the entire country from April 14th to ay 05th May, 2018. The said campaign is to promote social harmony, spread awareness about pro-poor initiatives of government, and reach out to poor households to enroll them and also to obtain their feedback on various welfare programmes. As a special endeavour during the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, saturation of eligible households/persons would be made under seven flagship pro-poor programmes in 21,058 identified villages, namely, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Saubhagya, Ujala scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Mission Indradhanush.
