Srinagar (KNO) : Authorities imposed undeclared restrictions in parts of Srinagar city on Friday to prevent protests.Resistance leaders have called for valley-wide protests after Friday prayers and against the killing of four civilians in near a gunfight site at Khudwani Kulgam Wednesday.
The police said restrictions were imposed in Srinagar’s downtown parts under the jurisdiction of Nowhatta, Rainawarai, Safakadal and MR Gunj police stations. Resistance leaders, Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umer Farooq have been placed under house arrest while Yasin Malik is in police custody.
Heavy contingents of police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have been deployed in downtown parts of srinagar.
