Police arrests drug peddler, 14 kilograms of poppy straw recovered | KNO

Srinagar, April 14 (KNO) : Kulgam police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 14 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession. On the directions of SSP Kulgam Shri Shridhar Patil and under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund Shri Aftab Bukhari, a team led by SHO Qazigund Shri Ather Samad laid a naka near Upper Bazar Qazigund.

During naka checking one suspected person who was carrying a nylon bag was intercepted and searched. On search of the said person 14 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered. The said drug peddler who was identified as Salam Din son of Sher Khan resident of Maler Kotla, Punjab was arrested. A case FIR No. 86/2018 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation taken up.
