Ignoring public sector units in 7th Pay Commission unacceptable : EJAC | KNO

A high level meeting of EJAC was held at its central office under the chair of President Employees Joint Action committee (EJAC), Abdul Qayoom Wani.

 

In the meeting, all the leaders urged upon the Govt. for immediate implementation of 7th Pay Commission, redressal of pay anomalies and implementation of medical insurance policy on Govt, public sector and pensioners.

 

In a statement issued to PTK assured the public sector employees that implementation of 7th Pay Commission without PSU's will never be acceptable to the EJAC which is representative body of employees of the State.

 

He said that as per the past precedence commissions have been implemented simultaneously on Govt, public sector and pensioners.

 

Wani said that “we have approached the Finance Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and he has assured the delegation that there will be no injustice with the public sector employees and we hope that Finance Minister having employee friendly attitude will provide justice to the poor employees working in public sector corporations.”

 

Wani urged upon the Chief Minister, Finance Minister and Chief Secretary for their personal intervention in getting the 7th pay commission implemented simultaneously on Govt, public sector employees and pensioners as the Govt has already agreed in principle in 2016 and also announced on the floor of the assembly.

 

Wani said that implementation of 7th Pay Commission without PSU'S will hurt all the employees of the state and EJAC will never remain silent on such discrimination.

 

He urged upon the Govt to speed up the process of regularisation of temporary employees and include Contingent paid employees and other categories of other temporary employees in SRO 520.

 

Wani also urged upon the Govt for the removal of pending pay anomalies especially clerical cadre, masters grade, Employees of electric department, Forest department, Fisheries department and other anomalies pending in different departments, revocation of SRO 202 and reopening the cases of nine employees terminated during 2016 unrest to provide justice to them.

 

He assured the public sector Employees that EJAC has always fought vigorously for rehabilitation of Public sector and its employees and never let them feel that they are alone.

 

Wani urged upon the Finance Minister who is known for his positive mindset, employee friendly and helpful attitude that he will utilize his influence in providing justice to public sector employees in Particular and Govt Sector in General.

 

Wani also urged upon the EJAC leadership and the leaders of Public sector federations to be united, alert and gear up their units for future course of action if needed.
