Srinagar, April 15, 2018 (KNO) : Syed Ali Geelani strongly condemned the “merciless” killing of a Youth Mohd Amir Lone, Chatturgul Kangan by brutal forces, saying killing unarmed civilians is the “worst kind of state terrorism” and the people of Kashmir are facing it for past seven decades. In a statement, Geelani while paying his heartfelt tributes to slain student said, “the irony is that whenever Kashmiri people try to raise their voice against such killings, they are being targeted by bullets, pellets, PAVA and lethal weapons.

Boycott all upcoming elections, Geelani asked people and stressed to remain faithful to mission nourished by the sacred blood of our martyrs. Syed Ali Geelani said that people in Jammu & Kashmir are striving for right to self-determination. Urging people to exhibit persistence with the movement, Geelani said, “we need to be optimistic, show wisdom and valor.’’ We have presented unparalleled sacrifices for our birth right and are duty bound to safeguard these cherished sacrifices”, he added. People faced bullets, sacrificed lives and scores were blinded, said Syed Ali Geelani & stressed to remember all these sacrifices, adding that although pro-Indian parties during election campaign attribute these elections to “Sadak, Pani, & Bijli,’’ however Indian authorities portray these elections as a consent from people for Indian hegemony.

Appealing people to forge unity among its folds, Geelani stressed that infighting within our folds is detrimental, saying “the people of Kashmir have been facing a wave of repression and atrocities at the hands of government forces and time have come the people of Kashmir will resist it with full determination and remain united,” the statement said. Syed Ali Geelani in his fervent appeal to youth asked to stand against waywardness, drug abuse , liquor trade and asked to remain aloof from all this and keep close vigil over all those involved in these mischievous activities Geelani expressed solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family of Shaheed Amir and added that world community should voice in favor of distressed and subjugated Kashmiris, who are being deprived of their lives and fundamental rights, saying that in civilized societies there is no justification for these merciless killings. Syed Ali Geelani in his telephonic address to mourners in Khudwani and Paderpora paid his rich tributes to slain Hafiz Quran, Gayas-u- Din and extended his condolences and sympathies with grieved family.
