ADC reviews preparations for Road Safety Week | KNO

KARGIL, APRIL 20 (KNO) :  Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Imteeaz Kacho today convened a meeting of the concerned officers to review preparations for 29th Road Safety Week. The Road Safety Week will be observed in the district from 23rd to 29thof April 2018.

The ADC was informed that as a part of the week-long programme several activities like awareness rallies, lectures, debates, symposia, skits, brainstorming sessions, panel discussions and series of related activities will be held in different parts of the district. The events would involve the participation of the senior citizens, district officers, transporters, representatives of driving institutes, college and school students, drivers and conductors besides general public so as to sensitize them about the significance of adherence to road safety rules by all possible means so as to ensure the safety of human life.

Meanwhile, the ADC impressed upon the concerned to put in their best efforts to impart awareness to the masses about road safety measures and traffic regulations. He also underlined the importance of holding the Road Safety Week and said it is the part of efforts of the Government to sensitize people for adopting safe driving practices and good road behavior. Sub Divisional Magistrate Sankoo, Deputy Superintendent of Police HQR Kargil, Chief Education Officer Kargil, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Kargil, Assistant Director Tourism Kargil, Assistant Director Information Kargil, Representative of Degree College Kargil, President Bus Union Kargil, President Taxi Union Kargil, Manager Vehicle Age Kargil, President Ranthag Theatre Group Kargil, besides other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
