Principal Secy to Governor, Div Com review arrangements for Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2018 | KNO

JAMMU, APRIL 24 (KNO) : A high level meeting was convened by Principal Secretary to Governor who is also Chief Executive Officer Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, Umang Narula to discuss the necessary arrangements required to be made for Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2018.

The meeting was attended by Divisional commissioner Jammu Hemant Kumar Sharma, IGP Jammu SD Singh, IG CRPF A V Chauhan, DIG Rafiq-ul-Hassan, DC Ramban T. H Ganai, DC Udhampur Ravinder Kumar, DC Kathua Rohit Khajuria, ACEO SASB Bhupinder Kumar, Chief Engineer M&RE Wing Ashwani Kumar Gupta, Director Tourism Jammu Smita Sethi, ADC Jammu Arun Manhas, ADC Samba T. R. Sharma, SSP Security Ashok Sharma, SSP Ramban Mohan Lal, SSP Traffic NHW Sanjay Bhagat, SSP Traffic Jammu Joginder Singh, SSP Samba Anil Magotra, Joint Commissioner JMC Rishpal Singh, RTO Kathua Pardeep Singh, Deputy Director Information PR Atul Gupta, General Manager JKTDC VeenakshiKoul, besides other senior officers of concerned departments.

Narula informed that the Yatra will commence on June 28, 2018 and culminate on the Raksha bandhan day on 26 August, 2018. He apprised that advance registration of yatries has already started through various branches of Punjab National Bank, J&K Bank and YES Bank across the country. He informed that on-spot registration facility during the Yatra period will be available at Jammu at Vaishnavi Dham, Saraswati Dham, Jammu Haat and Geeta Bhawan/ Ram Mandir.

Narula stressed the need for all concerned agencies to enforce sustained close watch and maintain effective co-ordination to ensure the smooth conduct of the forthcoming Yatra. In the meeting all aspects related to yatra including Yatra Registration, accommodation/transportation for Sadhus, accommodation/ transportation for yatries, emergency/disaster management, boarding of yatries, setting up of langers, security arrangements, barricading, medical facility, lodging facilities for yatries in Jammu province, security arrangements, fixing of signboard by PWD, communication centre at Yatri Niwas, sanitation/cleanliness, temporary toilets, mobile toilet vans in Bhagwati Nagar and Parade area, uninterrupted supply of electricity, adequate water supply, besides others were discussed in detail. Addressing the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner, said that the administration has already initiated action with regard to the arrangements that need to be made for the yatra this year.

He said that all the arrangements are being monitored strictly at all levels so that the devotees would have to face no inconvenience on this account. Meanwhile, Principal Secretary to Governor and Divisional Commissioner also sought suggestions from civil society members so that no loophole is left in arrangements required for comfortable pilgrimage of the yatries. The civil society members including Mahant Rameshwar Dass of Ram Mandir, Jammu, Col Karan Singh, Vice President Dogra Sadar Sabha, Karan Singh Charak, General Secretary Baba YatriNiyas besides other members of various organizations also spoke and gave their suggestions.

Later, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu along with senior functionaries of Civil and Police administration visited the Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar and took stock of necessary arrangements to be required for the upcoming Shri Amarnath ji Yatra.
