Srinagar, April 26 (KNO) : While urging the government to immediately redress the demand for removal of the pay anomaly of the J&K All Departments Clerical Staff Association, CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today said that the strike of the clerical staff has paralysed the working in various departments.

The government had last October promised to resolve the issues of the clerical cadre before implementation of the 7th Pay Commission. A committee constituted had reportedly come up with detailed recommendations for removal of disparities in salary of patwaris, police constables and clerics. However, according the clerical staff, they have been left out despite the promises.

As the summer has just begun and the working season has started, the strike has paralysed the working in government departments. It is high time that the government addresses the genuine issues of the striking employees without any further delay.
