Srinagar, April 27 (KNO) : Continuing its drive against cross LOC drugs smugglers in Uri area, Police arrested Nazir Ahmad Teehkray son of Maqbool Tehkray resident of Jabla, Kamalkote Uri and recovered 800 grams of brown sugar from his possession.
The said consignment had been smuggled from Pakistan via LOC and the accused resides in the close vicinity of LOC. In this regard, a case FIR Number 40/2018 under sections of 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Uri and investigation taken up.
Pertinent to mention that in the past some months Police had apprehended a number of such drug smugglers from the area and some of them had also been booked under Public Safety Act. Police is determined to wipe out all gangs and modules who are smuggling drugs from Pakistan with active support of some elements across LOC.
