The family members of one of the contractual lecturers in the Department of Sociology namely Dr Mohammad Rafi Bhat S/o Abdul Rahim Bhat R/o Chunduna Ganderbal have this morning reported to the university’s chief proctor that he is missing since yesterday.
The vice-chancellor has written to the Director General of Police, requesting him that all efforts be made to trace the whereabouts of the said contractual lecturer. The offices of the Hon’ble Chancellor as well as the Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor have also been apprised about the matter. The vice chancellor personally met the protesting students and assured them that all efforts would be made to trace the missing lecturer.
The university is in touch with the local police. Students are requested to maintain calm and cooperate.
