J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) vice president and MLC GN Monga said that state and centre government have no policy to deal with the prevailing situation in Valley. While taking to Press Trust of Kashmir said that everyday young boys are being killed in Kashmir.

“The situation has gone back to the 1990s’ when such killings were the order of the day. Whether someone is killed on this side or the other side, it is a human tragedy. But when killings galore, the two parties are pulling in different directions”, he said. He added that the present situation is reminiscent of 1990’s. “Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP-BJP Government in the State has failed on all fronts.

The killings of civilians indicate that this Government has failed in its constitutional duties to safeguard the lives of citizens and the hostile approach of Centre has badly damaged the socio-political scenario in the State”. Monga added that there is a need to have a sustained dialogue with all stakeholders and then only there is possibility of peace. He added, “The lack of political will to engage with the stakeholders with a sense of seriousness has created an enormous trust deficit”.
