Srinagar 10 May (KNO) : Ridiculing the claims that J&K Assembly is the most powerful assembly in India, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed said that had it been truly so then Nirmal Singh would not have taken oath as Speaker but as the president of the state. Speaking in the J&K Assembly today on occasion of Dr. Nirmal Singh being elected as the speaker Er. Rasheed raised strong objections to what Army chief and other Generals have said regarding cease fire and resolution to Kashmir dispute.

He said “Army Generals should restrain from making political statements if India claims to be the democracy and by saying that Kashmiris will never get Aazadi, General Rawat has crossed his domain as Kashmir issue doesn’t need recognition neither from State Assembly nor from any Army General or somebody else, to be called a dispute. It is painful that within 24 hours of the All Party Meeting BJP and Senior Army Officers started speaking in one tune and rejecting the idea of cease fire. Those in uniform and opposing the ceasefire are in fact the only beneficiaries of death and destruction for more than one reasons”.

Er. Rasheed said “The reason why Army and other institutions are not taking all parties meeting seriously is the fact that except from AIP, no one from the main political parties spoke even a word about ceasefire. Neither Sagar Sahab who spoke on behalf of NC nor the Chief Minister herself uttered a word on ceasefire during the meeting but it was strange that just to befool Kashmiris and the world community both the parties claimed before media of having talked about ceasefire. It is for their this casual approach that BJP and Army Generals downplayed the ceasefire issue”. Er. Rasheed also lashed out at Rajiv Jasrotia, the newly designated Forest Minister and said that there can be nothing shameful from the fact that Rajiv Jasrotia was the main culprit in provoking goons against Muslim community and organised the rallies of Hindu Ekta Manch.

While addressing to Mehbooba Mufti in the house Er. Rasheed questioned Rajiv Jasrotia’s entry and asked Mehbooba Mufti to explain how did she gave Jasrotia birth in the cabinet if she claimed to have taken a moral ground while throwing Lal Singh and Chandra Prakash out of cabinet. Er. Rasheed asked Mehbooba Mufti not to compromise anymore and must leave the chair rather facing humiliation on daily basis.
