Nocturnal gunfight breaks out in Pulwama village | KNO

Srinagar, May 12: A gunfight broke out between government forces and militants at a village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district late this night. Official sources told that a joint team of 55 RR, SOG and CRPF at village Chinar bagh, Mohalla Takya in Barpora Pulwama.

A police officer told GNS that the cordon was launched following specific inputs about the presence of some militants. As such the joint team of forces intensified the searches and fired some warning shots towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire triggering off a gunfight, the officer said. When reports last came in the intermittent firing was going on.
