Srinagar, May 14 (KNO) : The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik today met at Geelani’s Hydepora residence and discussed a series of issues confronting the people of Kashmir. “It was a routine meeting,” said a source.

The government allowed the trio to meet. “The meeting lasted for an hour and it was decided that the trio will announce its program tomorrow.” A source, privy to the meeting, said that deliberations took place over the prevailing situation especially in the backdrop of recent civilian killings in Shopian and Srinagar districts.

Seven civilians—six in Shopian on in Srinagar were killed in just a span of four days, last week triggering a fresh wave of protests. “JRL will issue a detailed statement tomorrow,” an insider said.
