JRL calls for Lal Chowk march on May 19, Eidgah rally on May 21 | KNO

6-member team to take all segments of society on board for future strategy

Srinagar, May 15 (KNO) : The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin today called for Lal Chowk march on May 19 amid a shutdown and also a strike and rally at Eidgah on May 21 to mark the death anniversary of Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and those who were killed in Hawal massacre of May 21, 1990. The JRL also decided to form a six member committee so that mechanisms for public participation in getting ideas and inputs and in decision making and implementation will be created.

“All segments of public including writers’ intellectuals, traders, chambers of commerce, transporters teachers lawyers; doctors’ students activists will be made a part of the broad based mechanism,” the statement said. The leadership will put forth its views and ideas that have been deliberated upon and during discussions with them will take their inputs .A consensus on the course and implementation will be jointly taken and the public informed.

The public has to prepare itself to follow the programs in letter and spirit. “The situation is grave, the road is long and tough .But our courage and determination unwavering. Together with unity and steadfastness (Inshallah) victory will be ours, the leadership said.
