Muslim Deeni Mahaz has expressed grave concern over the deteriorating health condition of its incarcerated ameer Dr Muhammad Qasim who is presently lodged at Udhampur Jail.
The continuous detention of chairperson Dukhtaran e Millat Syedah Aseyah Andrabi along with her companions was also condemned The spokesperson of MDM said that Dr Qasim is suffering from acute Glucoma and L4L5 Disc problem and in absense of any medical treatment his condition has deteriorated considerably.
The spokesperson said that Dr Qasim is being subjected to political Vendetta due to his non compromising political stand and was transferred to Udhampur Jail to make him suffer further. The spokesperson said that his shifting was against the standing instructions of supreme court of India which has clearly laid out that a life prisoner should be lodged at a jail nearest to his home. In Udhampur Jail, he has been denied any kind of medical treatment that has resulted in the worsening of his medical conditions. He further added that even after being bailed out by the court the chairperson of Dukhtaran e Millat Syedah Aseyah Andrabi along with general secretary Nahida Nasreen and personal secretary Fehmeeda Sofi is being held at Rambagh Police station.
He said that it is the height of highhandedness that women folk are being held prisoners for the past month despite being bailed out by the court. The spokesperson appealed the world community and the human rights organisation to look into the case of Dr Qasim and Asiyeh Andrabi to realise and act against the way a family is being held incarcerated for its political ideology.
