Robbery case solved by Police | KNO

Stolen property,Golden ornaments,cash worth ₹ 11 lakhs recovered. 04 Robbers and 01 receiver of stolen property arrested in Pattan,Baramulla.

Police Station Pattan received a written complaint that some unknown persons entered into the goldsmith shop of Ab Rehman Marazi S/O Ab Ahad Marazi located in market place of Hyderbegh,Pattan within an excuse of selling a golden ring.The burglars realising that an elderly shopkeeper is alone snatched the bag containing golden ornaments and ₹ 1.3 Lakhs cash .

Soon after receiving the complaint,a case FIR No. 87 U/S 392 RPC was registered and investigation was set into motion.Being a special nature of case a Special Investigation Team was constituted under the supervision of RaJa Majid,DySp SDPO pattan assisted by Inspector Mohammad Saleem,SHO Pattan and after strenuous efforts the team was able to trace one suspect namely Ashiq Hussain Sofi S/o Mohd Asgar sofi R/O Yakhmanpora,Pattan who was arrested and on questioning he disclosed the involvement of three more of his accomplices namely 1. Mohd Ibrahim Rather S/O Ab Rehman 2. Syed Zafar Shah S/o Syed Muzafar both residents of Yekhmanpora,Pattan and 3.. Sajad Ahmad parray S/o Mohd Zaman R/O Malikpora, Tergam Sumbal who were also arrested from various areas. During investigation it surfaced that after commuting the crime these burglars had run away in a silver colour Alto car bearing Registration Number JK15/0649. Police teams subsequently recovered the vehicle and all the stolen property,the snatched golden ornaments and money from the possession of accused .

The valuation of stolen property is estimated to be more than Rupees Eleven Lakhs.Some stolen golden ornaments were sold to one Sameer Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Hassan Dar R/o Sultanpora,Pattan who was also arrested being receiver of stolen property. All the accused are in Police custody remanded by competent court. Further Investigation into the matter is going on.
