Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) on Tuesday claimed responsibility for Pulwama and Shopian attacks, claiming that eight Indian armed forces were killed in the IED blast alone. JeM also paid tributes to its men for their activities in twin districts of south Kashmir.

JeM spokesperson claimed that an armoured vehicle was targeted and eight Indian armed forces personnel were killed in the attack. He also accused forces of killing a civilian Bilal Ganie. "We condemn it in the strongest words," he said and expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family. Police had said that one soldier and civilian were killed after militants attacked a camp of Rashtriya Rifles at Kakapora area while three soldiers were injured in an IED blast in Shopian.

JeM spokesperson added, "Indian forces are inflicting brutalities upon the people and are damaging the public properties." "India by beating the drums of ceasefire is inflicting tyranny upon Kashmiris," the spokesperson said and hailed the "pro-freedom" spirit of the people of Kashmir.
