Srinagar 01 June (KNO) : Appealing masses to participate in the 5th State Flag Day celebrations to be organized by AIP on 7th June in Srinagar, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has said that we must preserve what we have and continue our struggle for what has been snatched or promised to us.

In a statement issued today Er. Rasheed said “At a time when New Delhi rather agreeing to peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute is trying to bulldoze the special status guaranteed to the state, by taking the route of Supreme Court, people of Jammu & Kashmir must wakeup and protect their special status and identity. It is worth to mention that it was on 7th June 1952 when the state constituent assembly passed the resolution and state got its own flag and anthem”. Er. Rasheed added that there has to be no shortcut but only right to self determination can resolve Kashmir dispute. However till good sense prevails in New Delhi we must not allow Indian state complete integration of J&K with Union of India.

He said “The state flag and the state anthem are ample proof to recognize that J&K is a disputed territory and by no means J&K is like any other state of India or Paksitan’s jugular vein. We need also not to forget that the Azad Jammu & Kashmir has also its own flag and own anthem. Protecting state flag and state anthem would be a best and legitimate effort to defeat the nefarious designs of those calling for “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” Er. Rasheed said it is worth to mention that AIP has been celebrating the state flag day every year since the party came into existence.

He said “It is high time for people of J&K and political parties of various thoughts to ensure that state flag gets due respect and world comes to know about J&K being a separate identity. It is duty of every Kashmiri to restore and protect the dignity of state flag and they must avail the opportunity by participating in the 7th June function to display their loyalty and love for their nation”.
