Sat Sharma directs for undertaking massive sanitation, anti-mosquito drive | KNO

SRINAGAR, JUNE 01 (KNO) : In view of the ensuing monsoon season, the Minister for Housing and Urban Development Department Sat Sharma has directed the Municipal Corporations, Urban Local Bodies, Jammu Development Authority, Srinagar Development Authority,

Housing Board and Chief Engineer, UEED, to ensure that proper sanitation and augmentation of the anti-Mosquito drive be started immediately. The Minister directed the officers to ensure desilting of major and minor Nallahs including the cleanup of all the internal drains in the cities/towns besides clearing waste materials like the Garbage, ash, broken bricks and bushes across the roads be taken up immediately.

He asked to identify and Install the de-watering pumps on the spots where there is a severe water logging problem. The Minister further directed for keeping stocks of Anti Mosquito spray ready in all the wards of the Municipal Corporations and other Municipal Committees/Councils, Colonies etc for its effective utilization during the monsoon season. He also called for a special plantation drive to be carried out by all the subordinate departments of the Housing and Urban Development Department during the monsoon season.

Sat Sharma also asked for constituting a Disaster Management team and display their phones in the leading newspapers so that people can easily contact them in case of urgency. He also asked for sending the work done report including photographs be sent to this office through e-mail on "pshmhuddjk©gmail.com" on weekly basis (every Monday) without fail.
