Jammu and Kashmir Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday appealed India and Pakistan militaries to hold dialogue again to stop firing at borders as people on both sides of the fence were dying.

Terming the ceasefire incident on International Border with Pakistan as unfortunate even after both the countries Directors-General of Military Operations (DGMOs) held dialogue, Mehbooba said the bloodshed must be brought to an end “It's unfortunate that this has happened even after Directors-General of Military Operations (DGMOs) held dialogue. People on both sides of the border are dying.

The DGMOs should hold dialogue again. This bloodshed must be brought to an end,” ANI quoted Mehbooba as having said. Earlier today, two BSF personnel were killed while three civilians were injured as the armies of India and Pakistan traded heavy fire and shelling in Pargwal sector of Akhnoor along the International Border in Jammu.

The fresh exchange of fire comes barely a week after the DGMOs of India and Pakistan agreed to implement 2003 ceasefire agreement on the border.
