Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit on Monday claimed responsibility for an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Sopore town on government forces.

“Our cadres trigger the IED in which several Indian security force personnel were injured and the vehicle also got damaged at Nathipora,” a spokesman of the militant organization told in a statement issued here. Earlier, SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal said that the security forces detected the IED placed on the roadside by militants on Nathipora-Wadoora road.

The IED was later defused by Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) without causing any damage, SSP had said.
