Courage and patience of political prisoners deserve a big salaute : Geelani | KNO

Srinagar June 07, 2018 (KNO) : Terming the incarcerated pro-freedom leaders and activists as the prisoners of the conscience, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani saluted the precious sacrifices rendered by these prisoners for the sacred cause of right to self-determination.

Hurriyat leader while condemning the inhuman and ill-treatment meted out to the detainees languishing in Tihar, Jodhpur, Bangalore, Kot-Bhalwal, Kuthwa, Riasi, Udhampor, Mattan, Baramulla, Kupwara and central jails Srinagar, said that unhygienic food items are provided to the jail inmates and the denial of proper medication has a negative effect on the health condition.

While paying his gratitude to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Geelani Sahab said that our history, bears testimony to the fact that those incarcerated and lodged in different jails of India and in Jammu and Kashmir are pursuing their political belief and demanding right to self-determination, saying they belong to civilized and morally well of families, said Hurriyat Chairman.

Syed Ali Geelani citing an example of political vendetta said, Mir Hafizullah after revocation of several PSA’s during the last two years of detention, is presently detained at police station Islamabad in a worst health condition. Mir Hafizullah is suffering from different ailments like diabetes, prostrate and cyst in Kidney. Doctors have advised him for an immediate surgery, but the tyrant rulers and administration are neither releasing him nor providing him the proper medical treatment. Hurriyat chairman termed this type of ill treatment, as a gross violation of human rights.
