Srinagar 8 June (KNO) : Reacting to Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh’s Kupwara visit AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has said that six member party Delegation which was to meet him, boycotted the meeting at the eleventh hour, for the reason that authorities asked delegation not to speak about Kashmir issue or right to self-determination. The shocking dictatorial approach of authorities was rejected by the delegation and preferred to boycott the meeting. In a statement issued today Er. Rasheed said

“The incident has exposed the real designs of New Delhi. If Home Minister does not want to listen what masses stand for, there is no fun to befool people and invite them for interaction. It is shocking and shameful that party delegation headed by Advocate Noor-ul-Shahbaz was conveyed through Deputy Commissioner and other authorities not to speak about political aspirations, Kunan Poshpora gang rape, human rights issues and atrocities on Kashmiris before the Home Minister. The incident has vindicated AIP’s stand that we should never say no to talks as it exposes New Delhi at the end of the day and it’s excuses fall flat ”.

AIP wants to make it clear that party stands for resolution to Kashmir dispute in its historic perspective and it doesn’t need any sermons what to speak and what not. He said it is obvious that Deputy Commissioner would not do it on his own and talk like mouthpiece of New Delhi, unless he is asked to do so. The incident has exposed the mind-set of New Delhi and world should know that New Delhi has nothing to offer to Kashmiris and Kashmir is being run directly from New Delhi.

Er. Rasheed said, “It seems that Home Minister was made to believe that people of Kupwara have given up the sentiment and are not interested in talking Kashmir dispute. However the reality is that Kupwara has suffered the most and there are thousands of orphans, widows and half widows in Kupwara besides it being the ancestral place of victims of Kunan Poshpora. Mr. Home Minister should have collected the courage and visited Kunan Poshpora to know about the internationally recognised war crime committed by Indian army there and burying it in the coffin of national interest . Talking to few state sponsored deputations at any place doesn’t make a difference and these people don’t represent the real sentiments of Kashmiris.
