State General Secretry of Pradesh Congress Committee and MLA Bandipora Usman Majid here on today expressed serious concern over state government’s inept approach in dealing with problems faced by thousands of school teachers in the state. Majid said that the teachers working under centrally sponsored schemes SSA are being denied wages for no fault of theirs from months together.

He said Govt should immediatly release the salaries of SSA teachers in view of the auspicious occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr. Majid said that the tall claims of the Government to regulate the SSA salaries have fallen flat as teachers have to wait for months for the release of their salaries. He said that It is deplorable that teaching community has been put to sufferings and government is least bothered about their plight. How can they work with dedication as they aren’t being paid wages?” He said that Govt should explain as to why the salary is not being released in favour of SSA Teachers.

Its very unfortunate that SSA teachers have not received salary for the past 4-5 months which has plunged their families on the verge of starvation. Government is playing with the future of thousands of SSA teachers who r without any salary for last 4-5 months, he added.
