CUK inks MoU with HDFC bank | KNO

Srinagar, June 10 (KNO) : With an aim and objective to strengthen and further the industry-academia linkage and to provide modern banking facilities and solutions to the varsity, staff, students and other stakeholders, the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Saturday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) bank. On behalf of CUK, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, and on behalf of HDFC, Senior President State Head Jammu and Kashmir, HDFC Bank, Mr. Zubair Iqbal signed the MoU, in the presence of varsity Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, at a small function here.

The MoU has been signed in order to further boost the research and academic growth of the university, in partnership with the HDFC. In this mutually beneficial agreement, the university would conduct research and academic activities including workshops, seminars and guest and extension lectures, which would be sponsored by the HDFC bank after mutual agreement. The bank would also take in students for internships and would also manage guest lectures’ from the trained and experienced bank staff.

According to the MoU, the Bank will be also providing following services and facilities to the University: Institutional accounts to be opened wherein no service/commission or any other charges will be levied (charges if any will be reversed), all the services to be provided free of cost like POS, Payment Gateway, e-Solution for Revenue Collection, e-Solution for collection of all types of fee like admission, hostel, examination and registration Fee etc, payment/disbursement of funds like employees payments, student refunds, vendor payments etc through offline/online mode/RTGS/NEFT without any charges, account deposits like Institutional Accounts, Fixed Deposits etc, collection Services like PGW, Automated Clearing House (NACH), Point of Sale, Net Banking etc, online and offline payment Services, KIOSK Services, Doorstep Banking, deployment of bank personnel at university campus as per the need, separate counter for the staff and students at nearest HDFC branch, arrangement of guest lectures from trained staff for students, educational loans as per the bank norms to be provided to students with waiver of processing fee, health insurance at concessional rates to students and other allied services. Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir said the MoU should be implemented in letter and spirit and the bank should ensure that the students and staff does not face any inconvenience in availing the facilities and services as enlisted in the MoU. Senior President State Head Jammu and Kashmir, HDFC Bank, Mr. Zubair Iqbal, described the signing of MoU as a momentous occasion and assured that the bank would provide every possible assistance to the students and other staff members with regards to the facilities mentioned in MoU.

The university has signed MoU with HDFC, which is an extension of already existing university-bank relationship with State Bank of India and other banks. Finance Officer, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Haji, senior functionaries from both the institutions were also present on the occasion.
