Militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, has strongly condemned the act of summoning and harassment of the family members of freedom fighters in police stations and demanded the prompt release of the innocents arrested in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
“India is committing worst atrocities under the disguise of cease-fire. The youth are being mercilessly killed in fake encounters. This is not a cease-fire but a cease-life program,” Mehmood Shah, the LeT chief said in a statement to CNS. He warned some policemen to abstain from their vicious acts.
“We respect the families of police personnel the same way we respect those of Mujahideen and public. Revenge is not an improbable and impossible act for us. If the state police do not abstain from their inhumane acts, then they will have to face the worst of consequences,” Shah said. Mahmood Shah requested the international human rights organizations to take notice of severe human rights violations in Jammu Kashmir and asked them to play their due role in the provision of just and fundamental rights to the oppressed people of Jammu Kashmir.
