SRINAGAR, JUNE 13 (KNO) : The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today convened a meeting to review the arrangements made for Eid congregation prayers at Eidgah in the old city of Srinagar.

The Divisional Commissioner directed R&B to construct stage as per the specification provided by the Wakf Board. He asked the Board officials to install tents and public-address system well before the commencement of Eid prayers. While as PDD will ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. The Divisional Commissioner directed the SMC authorities to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation measures in and around the Eidgah.

For hassle-free transportation, he asked the Transport Department to ensure smooth regulation of traffic and adequate car parking places so that people coming to Eidgah don’t face any inconvenience. Khan asked PHE Department to ensure availability of water to the people coming for Eid prayers at the venue. Health Services will install medical camp with paramedical staff, critical care ambulance and medicines at the venue.

Div Com directed officers of district administration, Traffic, R&B, and SMC to visit the prayer venue and review on-spot arrangements of sanitation, parking and other amenities being carried out at Eidgah for the Eid-ul-Fitr. He stressed all concerned officers to work with added zeal and zest and in close coordination for the successful and hassle-free culmination of the big congregation in the capital city. IG Traffic Kashmir Basant Rath, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah, SSP Imtiyaz Parray, VC SDA, Chief Engineer R&B, Director Fire and Emergency Services, Superintending Engineers of PHE, PDD, Joint Commissioner SMC, Officers from J&K WAKAF Board and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
