Sat Sharma directs for completing the projects within fixed timelines | KNO

JAMMU, JUNE 17 (KNO) : Minister for Housing and Urban Development Sat Paul Sharma today directed the officers of PWD(R&B) department to complete the ongoing works in Jammu city within the fixed timelines. The Minister issued these directions while chairing a meeting to review the pace of development works beings executed by the department in Jammu. 

The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Rajan Mengi, AEE Rajesh Sharma, AEE Gurcharan Singh and other senior officers of PWD(R&B) department. The Minister directed that the left out works in Division-I and Division-II of Jammu city including Rehari, Sarwal, Talab Tillo, Toph Sherkhanian and Vikas Nagar should be completed within the set time frame, besides ensuring quality of material in execution of works. Later, the Minister also visited Toph Sherkhanian and inspected the works being executed by PHE department, PDD, PWD (R&B) and Jammu Municipal Corporation. He directed the concerned officers to speed the execution of works for the convenience of common masses.

He asked the officers of PHE department to gear up their men and machinery to provide adequate drinking water to the people of Jammu during summer season, besides providing the water supply at the fixed time every day. JMC officers were directed to ensure that dustbins are installed at main locations in the city and collection of garbage is done regularly.

He asked the general masses to help the government in maintaining sanitation in the city by keeping their surroundings clean and throwing garbage in the dustbins only. The PDD officers were asked to provide uninterrupted power supply and replace the old cables with the new ones wherever required and ensure that the street lights installed in the city function properly.
