Srinagar, 18 June (KNO) : Today Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) delegation met Hon'ble Health Minister Dr D.K Manayal at civil secretariat Srinagar. The meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere . The delegation apprised the Minister about demands of doctors especially the burning issue of availing gazeted holidays and OPD timings. DAK delegation conveyed to the Hon'ble Minister , that availing of gazeted holidays is fundamental right of all state employees including doctor's.

Doctor's did avail gazeted holidays, However emergency services were kept away from its purview and functioned smoothly. However certain administrators who deliberately wanted to create a wedge between DAK functionaries and the government misinformed Hon'ble Chief Minister and higher functionaries in the government, and a notion was created that doctors had gone on strike which was baseless and totally fabricated. The concerned Minister was also apprised about the inflammatory, derogatory and defamatory notice served to four leaders of DAK and it was assured that the notice will be taken care of. He was also apprised about the malafide and malicious campaign launched by few administrators on social and print media to project doctors as villians.

The Hon'ble Health Minister assured the DAK delegation that all the geniune demands are under active consideration and will be addressed on priority . The Hon'ble Minister also assured the delegation that a road map will be soon devised viz-a-viz Gazeted Holidays and OPD timing within some time. In the end the DAK delegation thanked the Hon'ble Minister and stressed for earliest meeting of the High level Committe constituted for addressing the demands of doctors.
