Welcoming the recent report by UNHRC which exposes grave human rights’ violation by Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir,* Dukhtaran-e-Millat on Monday urged the general secretary of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to take concrete measures for the final resolution of Kashmir issue.

“ This report exposes India at the international level and clearly states that India has illegally occupied JK and was committing grave HR violations to continue its illegal occupation. In this regard, we also appeal the United Nation to take concrete measures and work seriously for giving the people of JK their right to determine their own future as has been promised to Kashmiri Muslims,”DeM spokesperson, Rifat Fatima, said in a statement. She said that this step should be taken at the earliest as might be seen seriously how India was murdering innocent children in Kashmir on daily basis. “An environment has to be created that holding a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir becomes possible. We guarantee, if a plebiscite in JK is announced, the government and people of Azad Kashmir will take part in it whole heartedly. There will be no hindrance to the process as has been falsely propagated by India,” she added. She said that UN must take the note of how India has rejected this report.

“ But the truth will remain truth and the whole world knows how India is massacring and oppressing the people of Jammu and Kashmir on daily basis,” she added. She said that there was a need to take practical steps for the resolution of Kashmir issue. “ The only solution to the Kashmir issue is plebiscite that will give the people the right to self-determination,” she added. She said that the resistance leadership and the people should also isolate the black sheep in our ranks.

“ These black sheep are talking about Track-II diplomacy and other measures within Indian constitution to resolve Kashmir. It must be clearly told to them that there will be no dialogue with India other than how Kashmir will be free from Indian illegal occupation to take measures for holding a plebiscite in JK. Any others so called measures are unacceptable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir as it will be treachery with the numerous martyrs who laid their lives for this pious cause” Rifat added.

“Whosoever talks to India other than these conditions is betraying the people and the movement. InshaAllah the sacrifices of our people will bear fruit and Kashmir will see an end to this illegal occupation,” she added. Asking the International community to take a serious note of Indian atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir, Rifat said that while the whole world was celebrating Eid –uL Fitr, two young Kashmiris were brutally murdered by the occupational forces,” she added. She said that during the past three days, scores of men and women have received grave injuries. “ Many have been blinded by pellets but it has now become clear that people in Kashmir have decided that either we want to see an end to the illegal occupation or will prefer martyrdom. We have not and will never accept the slavery of India,” she added.

She said that this Eid every home in JK was in a state of mourning. “All one could hear from every home in Kashmir this Eid were praises for the Almighty Allah and slogans in favour of freedom of Jammu and Kashmir , in favour of Pakistan and anti-India slogans asking India to vacate Kashmir,” she added.
