Srinagar police arrests bootlegger | KNO

July 06 (KNO) : Srinagar police arrested a bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from his possession during a naka checking in Maisuma area of the city. A police party of Police Station Maisuma during naka checking intercepted an Auto Rickshaw bearing registration number JKO1V-7122 driven by Furkan Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Mir resident of Baghiyar, Jogi Lanker Rainawari.

While checking the auto, illicit liquor was recovered. On being questioned he was unable to justify the possession of liquor which he was carrying for sale among the masses in order to make the profits. In this regard, a case FIR number 18/2018 under section 48 Excise Act was registered in Police Station Maisuma and investigation is going on.
