Bhaderwah , July 13 (KNO) : Bhaderwah Campus , University of Jammu today lifts the badminton championship for College Girls by winning both Singles and doubles matches played today at the Indoor stadium of Bhaderwah Campus. The finals for singles played today between Meenakshi Sharma and Prakrati was won by Prakrati While as the finals for doubles played between Neeta Devi and Poonam Sharma Vs Komal Katal and Prakriti was won by Komal Katal and Prakriti.

The girls badminton championship was part of ongoing process for inculcating sports activities at Bhaderwah and its adjoining areas, 4 Rashtryia Rifles camped at Bhaderwah organised badminton championship for College Girls commenced at Bhaderwah Campus. Rector Bhaderwah Campus Prof. GM Bhat was the chief guest in todays function while as Deputy Commander 4 Sector RR , Commanding Officer 4 RR , Rector Poonch Campus Prof. Vinod Sharma , ASP Bhaderwah Rajinder Singh , HOD Computer Science Dr Jatinder Manhas, officials of Civil Administration, students, teaching , non-teaching staff and students of Bhaderwah Campus were present on the ocassion. The proceedings of the finals were conducted by Arif Rana Ganie, Shaista Tabassum Ganie of Bhaderwah Campus. The three days badminton championship commenced on July 10th at Bhaderwah Campus. Total of 36 girls participated in both singles and doubles matches.

A large numbers of girls students of Bhaderwah Campus, Govt. Degree College Bhaderwah and Girls Higher Secondary School Bhaderwah were present today . The winner and runner-up team in both Singles and Doubles were given winning trophies. All the participants who participated in the three days badminton championship were given certificate. Deputy Commander 4 Sector RR in his address thanked the Rector Bhaderwah Campus Prof. GM Bhat for promoting the sports activities at Bhaderwah Campus.

He assured that in future also such sports activities will be organised. Prof. GM Bhat in his address congratulated 4 RR camped at Bhaderwah for organising this badminton championship especially for girls students of different colleges and Bhaderwah Campus. “Such events will help in winning goodwill of locals and will also promote sports activities in the region and further facilitating youth empowerment,”Prof. Bhat said adding that ongoing process for inculcating sports activities at Bhaderwah and its adjoining areas. He further said that ongoing promotion of extracurricular and sports activities aimed at exploring hidden talent of chenab belt.
