Srinagar, 13 July (KNO) : Police today foiled the proposed ‘March to Naqashband Sahib (Martyrs graveyard)’ of Hurriyat Conference when they arrested Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and senior Hurriyat leader and PPP Chief, Engineer Hilal War near Mirwaiz’s Nigeen residence from where the march was supposed to take off Mr. War was released later. The duo Mirwaiz and War accompanied by a large number of supporters began the march towards Naqashband Sahib , defying all restrictions and curbs, from Mirwaiz Manzil Nigeen at 12:30 p.m. today to salute and pay tribute martyrs of July 13, 1931 . A heavy contingent of Jammu and Kashmir Police surrounded them and did not allow them to proceed.
