Jammu, July 14 (KNO) : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Coordinator Choudhary Abdul Hamid has said that foundation of PDP was laid upon the principle of restoration of peace and end of enmity between the two countries and the ultimate goal of the party has never been to be inpower but to provide service to people of the state.

He was speaking in a meeting of Party office bearers, District and Zone Presidents of Jammu Province convened in wake of coming foundation day of the party to be celebrated at Gandhi Nagar Jammu on 28th July. Choudhary said that the party is ready to sacrifice the government thousand times if it is for the safeguarding of the interests of the people of Jammu & Kashmir and save them from tyrannical times. He said the reasons that the BJP gave for pulling out of the support from the PDP are worth to hail and that the party feels proud for such reasons whether it was the demand of dialogue , ceasefire or withdrawal of cases against first time offenders.

Choudhary Hamid said that the Party ahead of the formation of government sought assurance from the central government over holding talks with Hurriyat and Pakistan for the timely resolution of the long pending Kashmir issue. “The government of India responding positively to the pleas of the chief minister is a remarkable achievement for the people of the state as the union government not only helped her to usher a new era of development but was also on the forefront to ensure peaceful solution." he said.

He said that Ms Mehbooba Mufti as a Chief Minister of the state has remained on the forefront to ensure in every way that the people of Jammu & Kashmir are accorded due rights and dignified living. Adding that from protecting the state subject law to punishing the Rapists of Kathua, Ms Mehbooba Mufti remained as a wall to protect people of the state from insurmountable predicament and the conspiracies being hatched against the far from the state. He said . “Come what may, we will not barter our principles and the people of the state are witness to the fact that the Our Party President didn’t compromise on her stand and always stood for peace, reconciliation and amnesty,” Choudhary said.

Rejecting the accusations of the BJP Leadership about disparity with Jammu Party General Secretary Ved Mahajan in his speech said that Valley deserved special attention due to 2014 deluge which cause huge damage to infrastructure and during the government’s first year , But is not based on facts that Jammu and Ladakh faced the neglect of any sort. Equitable development of all the three regions remained a top priority of the government and Jammu and Ladakh were equally benefitted by the governance of the PDP- BJP coalition and it is irony that hiding their own faults the BJP leadership is arguing about the less development in Jammu while as they perhaps has forgotten that BJP was the equal partner in the coalition and the BJP ministers were holding key portfolios in the government,” Ved added that PDP worked at the forefront to present Jammu and Kashmir as a composite state and not to let anyone fragment it on any ground.

“The best barometer to find the development in Jammu and Ladakh regions of the state is to seek response from the people of these regions and explore the ways to keep the state united and harmonious,”. Speaking on this occasion Senior Leader T S Bajwa Exuded confidence our the party leadership and said that PDP is a party with peoples agenda and represents their aspirations and the party was never power hungry. He asserted that they stand by the decisions of party leadership and assure our full support to Ms Mehbooba Mufti in good as well as bad times and said that they stand by the ideology and agenda of the party envisaged by late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who floated this party to mitigate the sufferings of people of the state. Bajwa said that PDP was never after power and its core objective has always been the mitigation of crises on ground and addressing the concerns of the state with courage and selfless efforts.
