Militant killed, two army men injured in ongoing encounter along LoC in Kupwara | KNO

An unidentified militant was killed in an ongoing operation near Safawali Gali along Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir's Kupwara district. An army officer based in north Kashmir told  that the encounter broke out near Safawali Gali adjacent to Batpora forests after a joint search party of 10 JAKLI, 57 RR and 41 RR challenged the movement of a group of infiltrators during pre-dawn hours today. The firefight continued intermittently till today morning, the officer said. He said that during a search operation, a body of an unknown militant has been recovered along with an AK rifle. Two soldiers are also said to have received injuries and have been evacuated to hospital, he said. The operation in the area is ongoing, he added.
