Srinagar, July 26 (KNO) : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Thursday said that “Kashmiris were suffering for long” and that India and Pakistan must resolve the issue through talks.

"Kashmiris are suffering for long. We have to solve Kashmir issue by sitting across the table. If India's leadership is willing then the both of us can solve this issue through dialogue. It will be good for the subcontinent also," he said. Khan was addressing a press conference in country’s capital Islamabad as his party is poised to win the most number of seats in General Election 2018, Geo News reported. Imran began his presser with thanking the nation for stepping out to vote in the July 25 polls.

"I thank god, after 22 years of struggle, my prayers have been answered. I have got the chance to fulfill my dream and serve the nation," he said. Speaking about India, the cricketer-turned-politician Khan said he felt disappointed over the Indian media's coverage of his electoral campaign. "I felt like I was a Bollywood villain," said Pakistan’s hero of 1992 cricket world cup. He continued, "If the Indian government is ready for improved relations with us then so are we. If they take one step towards us we will take two, but they need to take that one step." Khan further said dialogue is the only way forward with India and to ensure a peaceful South Asia.
