Secy Tourism reviews preparedness for Kashmir festival | KNO

SRINAGAR, JULY 31 (KNO) : Secretary Tourism Rigzin Sampheal Tuesday chaired a meeting to review preparedness for the chain of events to be held as part of upcoming Kashmir festival. Director Tourism Kashmir Tasaduq Jeelani, Director Finance Lateef Poswal, Director Planning Tourism Parvez Sajad Kakroo, Additional Secretary Tourism Gulzar Ahmed, Joint Director Tourism Jammu Showkat Mehmood and other concerned officers of the Tourism Department attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Director Tourism Kashmir briefed the Secretary about the arrangements being put in place regarding the hassle-free conduct of the Kashmir festival. He said that Kashmir festival will be a mega event with a variety of colourful events to attract both inbound and outbound tourists. He proposed that the festival be conducted before the onset of Durga Puja festival. He also suggested holding such festival within Dal Lake and its peripheries, which is considered travellers first itinerary in Kashmir. During the meeting, it was finalized that the invitees shall include leading tour operators of the country, travel bloggers, journalists and celebrities.
