Jamaat-e-Islami leader Molvi Gulam Rasool Sheikh passes away in Batote | KNO

BATOTE ,AUG 05 (KNO) : Noted religious scholar and leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Molvi Gulam Rasool Sheikh of Batote passed away Sunday at his residence after a prolonged illness.

As the news of his death spread the people from every nook and corner of the Batote and other parts of Chenab valley thronged to his home at Batote .With moistened eyes thousands of people were seen moving in his funeral procession.He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard at Batote . Politicians, religious scholars and social leaders from Ramban , Banihal , Doda , Kishtwar and Bhaderwah paid glowing tributes to Molvi Gulam Rasool Sheikh . People described him as a well known religious luminary, who has contributed a lot to religious education.

“The services rendered by him to the people shall always be remembered,” said a mourner.Paying glowing tributes to Late Molvi Gulam Rasool Sheikh many religious personalities said in his demise the Chenab valley had lost a prominent scholar of Islam who would be remembered for ages to come.
