DSW KU organises campus visit for students of Salfia School | KNO

Srinagar, August 11 (KNO) : The Department of Students Welfare ( DSW) University of Kashmir in collaboration with Salfia School Srinagar organized an awareness programme/ campus visit for the students of class 9th and 10th of the school to the KU campus.

During the campus visit the students were exposed to the various facilities and utilities of the university so as to provide them first hand knowledge about the various departments of KU which included Department of Physics, Botanical Garden, Directorate of IT &SS and Allama Iqbal Library. While visiting and interacting with the faculty at Department of Physics the students were informed about physics as an amazing subject of research and study and its applications in various spheres of our daily lives.

The students also visited almost four labs of the department wherein the faculty members educated them about various experiments being done. At the botanical garden of the University students were shown and informed about the different medicinal plants present exclusively in the botanical garden and various species of the plants that are at the verge of extinction.

During their visit to the museum at Allama Iqbal Library the students got a chance to see the ancient manuscripts and some archaeological findings while as at Directorate of IT&SS they were informed and apprised about the use and application of IT tools in day-today functioning of university.

Dean Students Welfare Prof. G.N Khaki while terming the students of schools as equal stakeholders in the highest seat of learning encouraged them to visit again and said that University is fully conscious of its socio-educational responsibilities towards the future generation. Liaison Officer D.S.W, Ms. Nasiha Naqash co-ordinated the event.
