Srinagar, August 14, 2018 (KNO) : All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Geelani condemning the attack of JNU student leader Umar Khalid in broad daylight at a public function in Indian capital New Delhi and said that this is yet another incident of communal vandalism, and these communal and fascist forces have never tolerated the existence of those standing for peace, justice and equal rights and anybody individually or collectively, who raise their voice and show some concern about the basic and fundamental rights are being targeted, assaulted, tortured and even killed.

He further said that Majoritarian hegemony and highhandedness has crossed all the limits and the monster of intolerance and hatred is growing bigger and bigger with each passing day. Saffron brigade on the behest and encouragement of rogues in power have made the life of every sane and conscious person’s life miserable. Hurriyat chairman cautioned Indian rulers that this lawlessness and hooliganism if not checked and stopped, will have catastrophic effects on the very existence of India.

Srinagar, August 14, 2018: Indian Independence Day has always brought countless miseries unending night raids, continues harassment, arrest of our youth and created a suffocating environment for the people of Kashmir. This was stated by All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani. While reacting to the arrests and curbs on the common people especially pro-freedom activists and leaders, he said that celebrating their Independence Day, Indian people have every right to do so, but at the same time forcing a suppressed and oppressed population to obey their dictate to unwillingly participate in “their movement of joy & happiness” is neither justified not does it stand any moral, ethical or democratic ground.

In a statement to a press Hurriyat said that Hurriyat General Secretary Gh. Nabi Sumji, Gh. Ahmad Gulzar, Bilal Ahmad Sidiqui, Hakeem Abdul Rashid, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash has been arrested by police and has been kept under house and police detentions. He said that police and civil administration should question their conscious as to why they are hell bent upon mutilating and disrespecting their own rules and regulations. Forcing people to participate in India’s Independence Day may earn them perks and privileges, but this deceitful and false narrative will never cultivate any soft image of the oppressor.

Nations which sacrifice their life and livelihood, which, even unarmed, dare the biggest military might and face the bullets and pellets bare-chested, spill the warm blood of their youth in every street of their land, can never be subjugated forever. Collaborators and henchmen are free to try any weaponry in their armory, but history stands testimony to the fact that barbarism and ruthlessness has always failed to silence the sane voice of freedom and whatever Indian imperialistic mindset does to crush us, we will never let the flame of freedom wither away.
