Srinagar 20 August (KNO) : Appealing government to resolve the long pending genuine demands of SSA Teachers, AIP President Er. Rasheed has said that successive governments have miserably failed to discharge their duties in getting the genuine issues of SSA teachers resolved.

While addressing teachers who were at sit-in protest in the premises of Director School education Er. Rasheed said “On one hand central government and even security agencies want to take credit for their contributions in education sector of J&K but on the other hand facts reveal that government is keen to destroy the educational system of the state and is playing with the future of children of the state. Let current Governor Regime not forget that things run in continuity and whatsoever the teachers genuinely deserve, its denial may force the community to take to streets. It is painful that the teachers having service period of over thirty years are being denied seventh pay commission benefits by citing stupid and illogical reasons.

Even if the central government winds up SSA Scheme for one reason or the other, it is mandatory for the state government to give the SSA teachers all those benefits which other state Govt. employees are entitled and enjoying. While teachers deserve respect than any other elite class of the society, it is disgusting that our teachers whom we call as nation builders are being dragged on roads and thus we seem to be heading for a disastrous in the education sector”.

Er. Rasheed added that those accusing militants and pro-resistance leadership of destroying future of new generation through constant strikes stand exposed as it are not the pro-resistance leadership or the militants but the state government itself is compelling teachers to face humiliation on the streets. Er. Rasheed appealed governor to avoid time buying tactics and resolve the long pending issues without humiliating the community further.
