Srinagar, August 20, 2018 (KNO) : Terming the random incarceration of resistance leaders of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha as a mark of tyranny on the face of India claiming the largest democracy of the world All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Gilani expressed his grave concern on the sheer lawlessness prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir.

The veteran Hurriyat leader while condemning the vile action of slapping Publisc Safety Act (a draconian law )for several consecutive terms, on Mohammad Yousf Flahi, Mohammad Hussain Waggay, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat and others, said that most of the incarcerated leaders were arrested during the 2016 peoples uprising, whereas their detention orders were quashed by the court of law. Strongly condemning the ruthless attitude towards the prisoners of conscience belonging to Jammu and Kashmir, Geelani said that even the despotic rulers of the primitive age used to display their kindness by releasing the prisoners on the religious festivals to make possible share the jubilant occasion with their children.

Hailing the steadfastness and determination of our prisoners of conscience languishing in different jails ,police stations and interrogation centres facing the wrath and tyranny of the jail authorities, Geelani saluted the valuable sacrifices of Shabir Ahamad Shah, Asia Andrabi, Fahmeedah Sofi, Naheedah Nasreen, Peer Saifullah, Altaf Ahamad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Meraj-ud-Din Kalwal, Nayeem Ahamad Khan, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahamad Dar, Shahid Yousaf, Zahoor Ahamad Watali, Dr. Gh. Mohammad Bhat, Muzaffar Ahamad Dar, Dr. Mohammad Qasim, Dr. Shafi Sharity, Gh. Quadir Bhat, Musarat Alam Bhat, Tariq Ahamad Dar, GH. Mohammad Khan Sopori, Mohammad Yousaf Mir, Ab. Gani Bhat, Mushtaqul Islam, Farooq Tawheedi, Mohammad Ayoub Mir, Shawkat Ahmad Khan, Nazir Ahmad Denter, Shakeel Ahmad Yatoo, Bilal Ahmad Kota, Mohammad Ayoub Dar, Feroz Ahmad Bhat, Sajad Ahmad Pala, Tariq Ahmad Bhat, Bashir Ahmad Qureshi, Umar Aadil Dar, Ashiq Hussain Bhat, Basharat Ahmad Mir, Manzoor Ahmad Najar, Riyaz Ahmad Dar, Latif Ahmad Rather, Lateef Ahmad Dar, Showkat Ahmad Ganie, Ishfaq Ahmad Khan, Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie, Sajad Ahmad Bhat, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Abdul Gani Bhat, Asadullah Parray, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Bilal Ahmad Ganie, Nisar Ahmad Najar, Riyaz Ahmad Ahanger, Mohammad Younis Barzulla, Hakeem Showkat, Mehraj-ud-din Gojri, Sajad Molvi, Abdul Hamid Bhat, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Abdul Rashid Magloo, Sirajudin etc.

Urging the immediate intervention to deter the plight of the prisoners of conscience, the Hurriyat leader made a fervent appeal to the United Nations Human Rights Commission, International Red Cross, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch Asia to take cognizance of the plight of these prisoners at the hands of Indian State.
