Srinagar, August 28, 2018 (KNO) : Expressing his grave concern on the plight of prisoners across all the jails in and outside Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani in a press release saluted the steadfastness and deep conviction of our prisoners of conscience.

While giving details of the inhuman treatment meted out with the incarcerated resistance leaders and activists, Geelani said it is unfortunate that the Indian fascist ruling class treat our resistance leaders like professional criminals in their so-called jails which have been turned into worst centres of interrogation.

Taking a dig on the Indian fascism the Hurriyat leader quoting the relatives of the inmates having interviews with them said that the incarcerated leaders or activists have been kept in solitary confinement in small unhygienic cells. They face the wrath of the jail authorities every movement.

Be it a so-called search operation, transfer from one cell to another, fall in line for receiving food or asking for any medical treatment, medicine or any other petty amenities, they are treated as slaves, causing indelible prints of degradation and humiliation on their minds Hurriyat Chairman while taking a pity on the so-called Indian acclamation of being a largest democracy in the world said that our detained leaders and activists belong to respectable families which do not bear any criminal record.

Their only sin is that they demand their birth right of self-determination, which was agreed upon by the Indian rulers at national and international level, said Geelani.

Hailing the uncompromising conviction and highest order of sentimental attachment with the resistance movement, Geelani paid rich tributes to the all great sons of the soil including, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Dr. Mohammad Qasim, Dr. Shafi Sharyati, Dr. Gh. The veteran resistance leader also appealed the International Community to take serious cognizance of the current situation prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir where Indian occupation forces, their mercenaries and the judiciary on the behest of fascist ruling regime are in close collaboration to change the state subject law and demography of the state which may pose a dangerous threat of widespread holocaust and destruction an immense magnitude than that of dropping atom bomb on Naga Saki and Hiroshima in Japan.

The Icon of the freedom movement sought United Nations auspices for an early resolution of Kashmir dispute which will be a good omen for peace and development in South Asia.
