Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah in his message to a senior CID officer has said that “the honor and sanctity of the homes of martyrs and freedom fighters is the same as of yours”.

“The respect and honor of mothers, sisters and daughters of freedom fighters and martyrs should be the same as you have for your family. We have on numerous occasions warned the forces and police personnel not to drag the families into the conflict but they continue to target our homes,” LeT spokesperson Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement quoted Shah as saying. He said the responsibility of the present situation lies on the shoulders of police and CID.

“Why is it that those who condemn the attacks on police do not speak up when the police personnel barge into the homes of martyrs and freedom fighters and mercilessly and indiscriminately beat the family members?” he asked.

“The freedom fighters have picked up guns to counter the Indian atrocities and for their right to indigenous freedom. Anyone who chooses the path of Indian forces or acts as a collaborator to their vicious motives will bear the responsibility to his very own punishment,” Mehmood Shah said. Meanwhile, LeT chief paid tribute to all those killed in the recent days and said: “they fulfilled their due responsibility and triumphed”. “It is now our responsibility to follow their path so as to succeed the indigenous freedom struggle,” he said.

Lashkar chief also thanked the people and said: “the sons of Kashmir are ready to take up any fight against the forces”. The outfit chief strongly condemned the “unjust” arrest of Shakeel Yusuf, son of UJC chief Syed Salahuddin by NIA and termed the act as “state terrorism”.
